Saturday At the Village Festival

The Coowonga team have put in a fantastic effort all day and night to bring you a top notch programme. I unfortunately did not get to see a lot of the action but managed to catch Denis and friends, (great show guys!) as well as an outstanding packed house performance from Mr. Percival. That was one neat show with great audience participation.

Sorry Pugsley, I had to go to work on the gate before you came on. Thanks for the couple of memorable pics though. I will treasure them. Late in the night I managed to sneak back for some more action where there was still a packed house. I am sure it was one of the greatest days ever.

If anyone has pics they would like to share, please send them to me. Sit back and enjoy some that I captured for your enjoyment.

Friday Night at Village Festival

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Home

Coowonga Folk Club is there! The atmosphere was friendly with a beautiful ambience. A brilliant performance by a Melbourne trio had the night rocking. Mulled wine was enjoyed by many people in the licensed area. Many nearby food vendors satisfied the hunger within.

A great start to the festival where thousands are expected to turn out for the weekend to get involved in many workshops, alternative lifestyle as well as lots of fun stuff. One of the biggest drawcards is the non stop entertainment running from Friday night through the entire weekend with a little time out each night for many to wobble back to the camping area for a little sleep before the next day.

If you are reading this before the event is over, drop in. You won’t be disappointed . There is something there for just about anyone. You might even run into some old friends.

The pictures below are from Friday night. You can see what fun we were having. If you would like a larger photo, please fill out the form after the photo gallery, making sure your email address is correct. Please allow a couple of days for us to get your email out.

Sound Mixing

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Home

On Saturday 8th, members of the club were offered a chanec to get some hands on experience with setting up sound gear and mixing the show. We learnt about cables, microphones, equalizers, compression, gates and limiters during the six hour “hands on” workshop. Some of the more confident members will sit in the co-pilot’s seat at the Village festival and assist our two regular sound engineers, Don and Damien during the weekend.
